Spread of saprophytic algae - pollution indicators in water bodies and rivers of Nakchıvan Autonomous Republic
Summary
The article provides information on the distribution dynamics of saprogenic algae, an indicator of water pollution, in the water bodies of the Nakhchivan AR. Our goal is to determine the distribution dynamics of saprogenic algae, which is an indicator of the degree of water pollution, in the water bodies of the Nakhchivan AR. Saprophytic algae collected from large water bodies of Nakhchivan AR (Uzunoba, Sirab, H.Aliyev reservoirs, Batabat I, II, III lakes, Nakhchivanchay, Gilanchay, Alinchachay) were selected as research object. As a result of research carried out in 2021-2023, 21 species of blue-green, 5 species of green and 5 species of diatom algae were found in the water bodies, rivers and lakes of the region. The largest number of species was found in the genera Merismopedia Meyen, Anabaena Bory et al Bornet, Microcystis F.T. Kützing, Oscillatoria Vaucher et al Gomont. Two saprogenic species of diatoms such as Asterionella formosa Hassall, Navicula oblonga (Kützing) Kützing were mentioned for the first time for the algoflora of Nakhchivan AR. The mentioned species are saprogenic species, indicators of pollution, and they belong to the types of cosmopolitan, north-alpine, alpine, arctoalpine, indifferent and boreal geographical elements.
