Examination of Passalora Fr. genus species in Azerbaijan
Summary
Cercosporoid fungi are one of the morphologically diverse groups of hyphomycetes, causing disease wild and commercially important plant species. Of this group of fungi, species belonging to the genus Passalora Fr. (Mycosphaerellaceae) have a long lasting research history worldwide. The genus Passalora has not been studied comprehensively in Azerbaijan. Specimens stored in the herbarium were involved in the research, morphological analysis of the fungi was carried out, and the species status was determined. The article presents the history of the study and characteristic features of cercosporoid fungi. Thus, the examined specimens were recorded as Passalora calystegiae (Speg.) U. Braun, P. dubia (Riess) U. Braun, P. malkoffii (Bubák) U. Braun, P. marmorata (Tranzschel) U. Braun & Crous, P. microsperma Fuckel, P. penicillata Ces., P. rosae (Fuckel) U. Braun, a brief species descriptions, collection locations and host plants are provided.
