Study of the anthocyanian composition of Lonicera caucasica Pall. species spread in the flora of Azerbaijan

Summary

For the first time, the content of anthocyanins in the fruits of Lonicera caucasica (Caucasian honeysuckle) was studied quantitatively and qualitatively. Individual anthocyanins were obtained by column chromatography with acid cellulose powder and purified by paper chromatography. The UV spectrum of individual substances was determined by spectrophotometric and photoelectrocalorimetric methods. The aglycone state of sugars was determined by the method of complete and partial hydrolysis. It was found that the total amount of anthocyanins extracted from the fruit contain 3 anthocyanins, and two of these were obtained individually. Based on chromatographic, spectral and hydrolysis analyzes, the individual anthocyanins were determined to be cyanidin-3-glucoside and cyanidin-3,5-diglucoside. 762 mg% of anthocyanins were found in fruits. The results of the study show that the fruits of the L. caucasica species are a promising source of raw materials for the production of an anthocyanin preparation and natural red food dye.
