Chemical composition of leaves of Sea-buckthorn (Hippophae rhamnoides L.) distributed in Azerbaijan
Summary
The article presents the results of a study of the quantitative content and qualitative composition of biologically active and nutrients substances of the leaves of the male individuals of sea buckthorn. As a result of the analyzes, it was found that the leaves of male individuals of sea buckthorn contain 12.13% total sugars, 0.78% pectin, 2.34% flavonoids, 12.71% tannins, 0.57 mg% catechins, 4.11 mg% carotenoids, 97.32 mg% vitamin C, 0.31% ursolic acid. It was revealed that the sum of catechins contains + catechin, + epicatechin, + epicatechin gallate, the sum of flavoinodes contains quercetin, isorhamnetin, myricetin, rutin, narcissin; the sum of carotenoids - α-carotene, zeaxanthin, violaxanthin, taraxanthin, lutein. The results of the study indicate that sea buckthorn leaves can be used as a promising raw material for the production of a biologically active food supplement, a preparation with P-vitamin activity and carotenoid-chlorophyll paste.
