Anatomical and micromorphological study of Ajuga L. species, distributed in Azerbaijan
Summary
Due to the data deficient about the species Ajuga (Lamiaceae) distributed in the Azerbaijan flora, a comparative study of the anatomical and micromorphological features of the species was carried out. Some of the collected plant samples were examined under a ZEISS Axio Vert.A1 light microscope. As a result, it was found that individual types of cellular structures are similar, but have some differences in cell size, the conductive system of tissues and in their structure. The micromorphological structure of trichomes in leaves, calyxes, and shoots was studied using a JEOL-6000 scanning electron microscope. In Ajuga., short oneor two-celled glandular and covered hairs were found on the plant. Pelitate glandular hairs with a rounded multicellular secretory head are also found here. Differences in the anatomical and micromorphological structure of these species are important for infrageneric taxonomy.
