Taxonomic composition, nutritional value and ecological groups of edible mushrooms in Azerbaijan

Summary

The study examined the taxonomic composition and ecological groups of edible mushrooms widespread in Azerbaijan. The article provides information on 52 edible species of the Basidiomycota belonging to the 6 orders (Agaricales, Boletales, Russulales, Cantharales, Pezizales, Polyporales), 15 families and 33 genera. Of the studied edible fungi, 24 species are representatives of the order Agaricales, 14 species of Boletales and 7 species of Russulales. One or two species of edible mushrooms were assigned to each of the other three orders. Ecological groups of fungi were studied and distinguished as mycorrhizal, xylotrophic, humus saprotrophic, saprotrophic and parasitic.
