General characteristics of fungi оf the genus Septoria Sacc., recorded on woody plants in Azerbaijan.

Summary

Fungi from the genus Septoria on the arboraceous plants in Azerbaijan was analyzed based on the literature and herbarium samples according to the up-to-date taxonomic novelties. It was revealed that nine taxa from the known 25 taxa of the genus on woody plants currently were transferred to the genus Mycosphaerella, Pseudocercospora və Sphaerulina. Remaining 16 taxa of the genus Septoria are pathogens of 13 host plant species from various families. Morphological features, host plant range, geographical distribution within country were introduced.
