New key for identification for species of the genus Hypericum L. in the flora of Azerbaijan
Summary
Hypericum belongs to the largest and taxonomically complex genera in the family Hypericaceae. This genera includes approximately 480 species, which is widely distributed in tropical and subtropical regions of Northern hemispehere. Species of this genus grow on moist soils, on dry cracks of rocks, on rocky placers and in thickets of shrubs. The article is devoted to the study of the genus Hypericum in the flora of Azerbaijan. The work reveals the species composition and also reflects the classical, comparatively - morphological, floristic and systematic methods that were used in the study of the genus. It is established that in the territory instead of 15, 19 species are distributed. We also identified one subspecies of H. perforatum subsp. veronense and one variation of H. scabrum var. micranthum of this genus. A new key (based on diagnostic features) for the species identification has been compiled. The latest nomenclature changes in the taxonomy were taken into account when compiling the key.
