Сonception of genus Anthemis L., Cota J. Gay and Archanthemis Lo Presti & Oberpr. (Asteraceae) in the flora of Azerbaijan
Summary
The article provides information on the results of the study of the taxonomy of the genus Anthemis from the tribe Anthemideae, and the family Asteraceae. The work used classical comparative morphological and systematic methods. As a result, referring to the databases Euro-Med Plant Base, World Plants: Synonymic Checklists of the Vascular Plants of the World and the journal “Taxon”, taxonomic and nomenclature changes that have occurred in the genus Anthemis. It was found that the section Cota of the genus Anthemis was isolated as an independent genus Cota, and two species of the genus Anthemis (A. fruticulosa and A. sosnovskyana), according to molecular morphological analysis, were allocated to the genus Archanthemis, which is a new for the flora of Azerbaijan. A. sosnovskyana has been relegated to the rank of subspecies (Archanthemis marschalliana subsp. sosnovskyana). Thus, at present, the genus Anthemis is represented in the flora of Azerbaijan by 4 species and 1 subspecies, the genus Cota - by 6 species, and the genus Archanthemis - by 1 species and 1 subspecies. A new key for the definition of genera and species and a brief overview of them are presented.
