Developmental biology of the species Rhamnus cathartica L., introduced to Absheron

Summary

The article presents the results of long-term studies on the introduction of the species Rhamnus cathartica L., a representative of the Buckthorn family, into the experimental collection of the Central Botanical Garden. The reproduction of the species by seeds, morphogenesis and bioecological features of young plants during the annual vegetation period, rhythmicity of growth and development, reproductive capacity, duration of decorativeness, suitability of the species for landscaping were studied. During the research period, when studying the biomorphology and primary biology of the development of the R. cathartica plant, the characteristics of the growth and development of the species in the experimental area were studied, the adaptive capabilities of the species in new conditions were determined, the characteristics of seed and vegetative propagation were studied, agricultural technology for its development was developed, and an assessment of the prospects of the species in cultural conditions was given. Based on the results of the study, an assessment of the prospects for using the species in landscaping parks was carried out.
